the mother's day way

this has been my 2nd mothers day and it was just fantastic.
on saturday we met up with my friends, mitch and jenny, from high school and ate sushi and watched THE AVENGERS!
it was my second time seeing it and brett's first.
and after the movie i asked brett what he thought of the movie and he said one of the best things since he proposed to me,
"we HAVE to see it again and next time, in IMAX 3D."
yessssssssssssss
and yes, i am wearing an avengers t-shirt i got in a large in the little boys section at wal-mart!  thanks for asking!

i seriously love being a mom.  i still love being a stay at home mom.  i find it fascinating watching how much everton grows everyday.  he gets peskier and peskier, but it's because he's just getting smarter and smarter.  it's been such a HUGE blessing in my life being a mom.
and i want a flock of evertons surrounding me giving me big hugs and kisses.  that's my dream.

brett grilled up some burgers after our 3 hr long nap after church and everton likes to wait for his food in such peculiar ways.  weirdo.
mothers day roses from my lover.
you know, during a lot of the holidays i tend to pout a little bit because of things not going how i thought they would.  like today for instance, because it's mother's day i pretty much assumed my primary class would be on their best behavior.  false.  or you know, i didn't think i'd be getting my monthly visit today from aunt flo, that beotch.  so poor brett, he got a double whammy from a grumpy mommy today.  brett often reminds me that i can't let my sour attitude get in the way of the day's happiness.  that i need to find the joy in the little things, cuz otherwise i'm gonna miss the good times when i was focusing on the bad.  i hate how he needs to remind me of that every once in a while.  but i'm trying to not be so pessimistic in life but more optimistic and grateful.  and i sure am grateful for a husband who is there for me NO MATTER my mood.
and before brett went to bed (he goes to bed a lot earlier than i do) he sent me on my way by popping in my movie, x-men origins: wolverine, made me a cookies and cream ice cream cone, and brought down my nail polish equipment.
he pretty much made me feel like a queen.
it is mother's day after all.
happy mothers day to all and to all a good night!

  1. I didn't have a primary class, but my own children raised their own heck during church, I didn't hear a thing. You crack me up, I love reading your blog, but it does make me miss you!
