1.  he is so awesome

2. he smiles so much more now that he's not passed out all the time.

we've been hangin out with my fam from that thar west virginia and will continue to do so for the WHOLE month of july...hence the shocked look on these two...but i'm loving it.

don't be expecting too much from this little blog for awhile.

this kid makes me laugh so hard.

and he's only about 2 months now.

i think he was sent to me because of how much joy and laughter he brings to my life.

and he doesn't have to say a thing.

just a darned exam

it was approaching little everton's thumb surgery.  i kept looking at his little extra digit knowing it was gonna be gone.  i even started getting a little sad knowing it wasn't going to be a part of him anymore.  the day before his surgery date primary children's hospital called confirming his appt.  i said "yup we'll be there.  question though, how long is the procedure gonna take?"
and they said, "oh, he's just coming in for an EXAM."
WHAT?!?!?!
the lady then proceeded to tell me that they need to take some x-rays and check out his thumb before they did the surgery.
i was pretty annoyed.  i could've sworn they said they were gonna do the surgery when i first made the appt back in may.  also brett took this whole week off so he could help me out with his recovery. and i was also psyching myself up for this day!  i've been getting nervous and worried and it was all for nothing.  i just wanted to get it over with.
thinking about it though, i guess i was pretty dumb thinking they were gonna go right in cutting off his finger without taking a look at it or take some x-rays.
ohhhhhh well.  we went to SLC to the hospital and waited in the packed orthopedics waiting room full of sweet little kids, all of them had their arms or legs in a cast.  it was so sad.
they took some x-rays of little E's thumb and the doc checked out his thumb and told us they usually do surgeries like this at around 6 months to a year old because that's usually when babies can handle the anesthesia...
so the ACTUAL surgery is set for october.
kid gets to keep that extra thumb...

i am LOST

hello hello.

i am alive.  

i haven't been on my usual daily websites such as facebook, blogger, pinterest, or even my e-mail!

why?

cuz of this...

i am a slave to it.

i realized that i am home all day, feeding a hungry baby every few hours dubbing me as the dairy queen.  there is also just nothing on tv during the day.

heaven knows i've watched the office series too many times and our collection of movies aren't really intriguing right now.

so i decided to start watching LOST on netflix.  it's a show that i've always wanted to start but never have, thinking it looks like something that could get severely addicting.

and boy was i right.

MAYBE i just watched the first 2 seasons (about 25 hour long episodes per season) in 6 days.

mmm hmm.

i'm in LOVE with it!  i heard it starts to suck after a few seasons but for now it's seriously all i think about.

and that's what i've been doing with my time.

and i shall start the 3rd season tonight.

you can expect absence from my blog for awhile.

but don't worry, i be back.

this past weekend brett ripped me from my show and we went to SLC for a "date night."  we realized that a lot of our casual date nights will include little everton. it's cool though, he can come.

and we went to california pizza kitchen at the gateway mall.

he's very excited about pizza.

when we got our food everton started getting a little fussy and brett offered to hold him so i could eat first.  (we're trying to get the hang of eating and holding a fussy child at the same time.)

and some random dude came up to us saying how we're good parents and that everton is really cute.

how refreshing it is to hear you're a good parent and that it looks like you're doing the whole parenting thing right.  cuz pretty sure i've been wingin it everyday.

everyday i'm growing more and more in love with his hair.

i can't imagine having a bald baby now and i love how we can somewhat style it.

it seems he has like, 3 cowlicks on his head.  and when we give him a bath  his hair gets so curly and fluffy.  but once it completely dries it gets pretty straight.

such sweet baby lips!
