my best friend's wedding

my bestest friend charlene is married!!

but first things first.  let's talk about thanksgiving.
how amazing was thanksgiving this year??  we had it at our house this year and my mom and sis erin was able to be with us.
i made the tender turkey and my mom pretty much made everything else.

turkey, steak, lumpia (filipino eggrolls,) sushi, shrimp, 6 layer dip, corn, and mashed potatoes.
and bottles and bottles of sparkling cider.

anywhos, like i said earlier, my best girl charlene got married on black friday and it was a blessed event. it was a pretty beautiful and not too cold day, esp for being in utah in november.
my mom, brett, and i got to attend adam and charlene's sealing in the salt lake temple while erin watched our little dude.

then we waited for the newly married couple to make their appearance.

everton, suit up!

everton was a sad sack of potatoes throughout the day.  i guess skipping out on his usual 3hr nap does that to him.

charlene was so GORGEOUS (as usual) and adam was very dapper in his marines uniform.  everton was quite dapper too.

charlene and i on each others' wedding days.  i am so lucky i was able to attend her wedding.  charlene and i have shared so many awesome memories and i'm glad we could add these memories to our list.

then it was time to boogie down.  seriously, their reception was like prom, but better than our own high school's.  and they even had a photo booth!

cousin hazel and everton having a splendid time.

us sistahs.  it was so fun dancing with them again.

cuttin the cake.

what a memorable day and night. i think everton's still recovering.  and we're still eating leftovers that sis decato gave us.  i honestly cried and cried and cried some more that entire day.  charlene even said she thinks that i've cried more than she did that day.  shut it off alyssa!  but i still can't believe charlene is married!!!  i'm so thrilled for her and can't wait to have married group dates.  love you so much charlene and congrats again!
hooray for marriage!

a Tiffany blue bridal shower

my best friend charlene is getting married!
on black friday in fact.
and i get to be a bridesmaid for the first time!
so i wanted to throw my BFF an awesome bridal shower, cuz she did the same for me when i got married.
charlene loves the movie breakfast at tiffany's and i thought it would be a fitting theme for her bridal shower.
well, the theme is really tiffany blue.
and it was a classy party.

i had won a customized card giveaway from 281 Fourth Street a little while ago and it was perfect timing for the shower.  She designed it beautifully and exactly what i wanted.

my 4th-ish time attempting cake pops minus the pops part this time.  and i found them to be a heck of a lot easier to dip in the chocolate.  and the cake pops maker from babycakes that my mom gave me helped out too.

i think these sweet little "tiffany" blue boxes were my favorite to put together.

seriously, oriental trading, zurchers, and hobby lobby are my fav party supply places.

charlene's future sisters in laws helped out with the rest of the appetizers and i'm so grateful they did.

and these blingin diamonds filled with reese's pieces are inside those sweet little blue boxes.

the gorgeous bride to be and i

the bride's loot.

we interviewed the bride.

she stole a kiss from the groom, adam, when he stopped by.

see those blingin rings they're wearing?  it was for a game where each lady gets 1 ring, but there was a buzzword where you couldn't say the word ADAM.  if you hear someone/someone hears you saying adam you get their ring or they get yours.  charlene's mom won that game.

and we also played a fav game of mine where you're blindfolded and you have to dig through rice to find as many tiny safety pins as you can.  charlene's mom won that game too, what the heck.

then it was the bride's turn to open presents!  even adam got to join in for a present.

and i got her these and then some.  no, i can't show you what i got her silly!  but she was indeed a blushing bride.

we look like we're attending a sexy funeral.
but it was a sexy bridal shower and it was over.
now it's wedding (and turkey) time!!!

last halloween tidbits

after all of our halloween celebrations this month, it still wasn't actually HALLOWEEN yet.

to prepare for our halloween we stuffed ourselves with cookies and milk
and then got onto pumpkin carving, which is something brett and i haven't done since we've been married.
i picked out an AWESOME stencil and we got to work.

everton was curious

and disgusted.

our finished work.  can't tell what it is?? it's mah favorite dude, loki.
and speaking of loki check out what my awesome friend jill made!

i love him.  seriously, jill is amazing.

also since brett and i have been married, we haven't been too into decorating for holidays.  in rexburg we just had our small apt and now here in tooele, i feel like people just aren't into halloween as they were out east.
but my mom helped me out and halloweened our house...and we were pretty much the only decorated ones in our area.

and what kind of halloween is this?? wearing shorts?  it was seriously such a beautiful day.

and i won this sign in bunco awhile back!  glad i already had some kind of decor.

can you tell it's loki now??  i love this pumpkin.

so halloween night came and we got a whopping 12 trick or treaters.  seriously what's wrong with kids these days?  turns out a lot of my friends would just take their kids to the nicer neighborhoods in tooele or to their parents' neighborhoods.  i can TOTALLY understand that.  if i wanted to trick or treat for heroin i could just go across the street.  we didn't take everton out, he got plenty of enough candy from the ward's trunk or treat.  we finished out the night by putting a sugar filled abu to bed and watched obama's america, 2016, which was horrifying enough for halloween.

ttyl october, we're onto november, the month of giving thanks and stuffing our faces with turkey.
