day 8-a fast february

WHEW.

i'm exhausted.

i feel like february has shot on by when it's only the middle of the month.

my mom's been with us since the 4th and left yesterday.

and i've been crying a lot.

i tell myself i'm going to see her soon in a few months for the baby's birth and my dad's coming out next month.

they have these free plane tickets to use up so they decided to come out here separately leaving behind the other to take care of my younger sis...

but i really miss my mom, she's been my buddy while brett was at work.

doing our nails, staying up absurdly late, watching movies and just talking and catching up on news from the fam and friends.

i love her so much, next to brett she's my best friend.

we've been eating SO good and she has taken us shopping to fill up our pantry and to add some cute decor to our new house.

also while my mom was here kyla and her husband travis were able to come up from manti a few times and it's just been so much fun and so loud when us girls get together.

i love my sweet family.

and the family's continuing to grow!

kyla's now 18/19weeks now and just found out she's having a girl!

a  sweet little girl for my everton to beat up.

just kidding, well we'll see.

news from our valentine's day-i had to go to the doctor to get the results from my glucose test.  and it came back normal!  my mom thought i was lying because she was shocked to see how much sugar i've been eating.  but what can i say?  mah child loves his chocolate and sour skittles,  happy valentine's to everton!  you're not a complete sugar baby.

another amazing thing my mom did was put together a little surprise baby shower while she was out here!

i love that woman.

it was just the sweetest thing.  she had brett make up a cute lie saying that we're gonna go meet one of his mission buddies in sandy before we meet up with my mom, who was staying at her sister's in spanish fork for the day.  then when we got to his "mission buddy's" house our family friends from back east opened the door and what did i do?  i started bawling of course.

i'm probably one of the easiest people to surprise cuz there have been so many clues slapping me in the face this whole time and never thought anything of it!

like when my best friend, charlene, who's serving a mission right now, wrote me telling me to have fun at my baby shower (not knowing it's supposed to be a surprise).  i asked my mom what she was talking about and she played it off saying that charlene mixed me up with another alyssa from her ward who's also having a baby soon.  or my fav was the fact when we were walking up to the party house there was a car with a west virginia license plate and i again didn't think anything of it.

it was just so much fun seeing old friends and getting sweet little gifts and outfits for my baby boy and eating good food of course.

my mom even invited my darling west virginia friends, some of which are living in utah now and some were just visiting from back home.  yup i had guys at my baby shower and wouldn't have had it any other way.

DAY 8

reason of the day as to why i love brett-

 he always likes to surprise the crap outta me and he loves me and the baby so much he endured his first baby shower and cheesy games.

and pretty sure it was also my guy friends' first baby shower too and they made it even more fun and loud.

we played the guess what kind of chocolate is in the "poopy diaper" game my cousin katy brought.

and the "let's see how big alyssa's gotten" game and surprisingly my friend matt got the measurement perfectly right!

my cousins scott and katy.  they'll be moving to tooele soon so i get to have some family around!

i'm just so grateful for the love and support we have gotten from friends and family.

and am especially grateful for my mom for throwing me this amazing party/baby shower. and thanks to those who helped my mom out!
