DAY 2
today we went to go register at target for some baby treasures...
such as bottles, nipples :) swaddlers, bathtubs, baby butt pastes, baby traveling/furniture stuff thats just way too expensive for anyone to really get for us but we REALLY like the colors so the registry's become more of a wish list, basic clothing such as onesies, and some other sweet and tiny little outfits, etc, etc.
holy crap, you always hear that having a baby is expensive but when you're actually gonna have a baby, then you REALLY REALIZE how expensive they are, and our kid isn't even born yet.
brett had the day off soi dragged him he gladly came along with me to go register. while registering i couldn't help but think of when we registered for wedding stuff and how i was especially giddy, thinking about the place i'm gonna live in with my soon to be hubby and all the cute stuff that's gonna be all our own!
baby registering, on the other hand, was still exciting, yet a little overwhelming,
"i really like this cute outfit, but what the heck size do i get?"
"ok, this aisle is freakin full of just bottles and nips, and i see there's numerous sizes of everything!"
"ohhhhh this little shirt and pant outfit is SOOOO cute!" (then i do a squeal and and close my eyes for a second thinking about a cute little boy wearing it, then brett rolls his eyes.) and pretty sure i did that whole routine for every cute outfit i saw.
exhausting i know! i get easily stressed, even about the littlest things, and brett is always there to save me.
which is the reason of the day as to why i just love that man.
he started getting a little scanner happy and just started scanning what felt like everything, at least in the bottle/nips section. i thought it was funny and he helped make me not feel like it was a life or death situation as to what brand or size bottle we get.
i easily get overwhelmed just about the dumbest things and he's always there to comfort me and tell me it's not a big deal at all and he helps me figure out the simplest solutions to my problems.
he's my shoulder to cry on and then he's my partner to figure things out with.
i love him so much for the patience he has with me, he knows who i am and knows i tend to freak out too much.
he has also helped me to build my confidence up for when i am stuck in a dither and i don't have him right there with me to help me out. i try to figure things out for myself and have learned that i don't exactly need to depend on him ALL the time.
i know i'm gonna stress and freak out when the baby comes but it's such a comfort to me knowing brett will be right there with me, learning about baby stuff as we go, and telling me it's ok when the baby isn't doing what i expected. also knowing we're having a boy i'm sure brett will be comforting me a lot b/c i'm sure our baby boy will probably be really rambunctious.
i'm already nervous.
maybe our registry is full of non needed items due to scanner happy brett so if someone happens to check it out, let me know? cuz i honestly have no clue what we're doing.

Boys are great! Dont let me scare you (too much.) ;-) You will be just fine! It is very expensive to have a baby, but ways will be provided!
ReplyDeletewhat parent knows what they're doing when it's their first? i had it easy cause we were living with my parents and mom taught me not to stress over little things. and scott and katy were there too. erica never wanted for attention, or anything for that matter. you have two little sisters and have babysitting experience... you will do great. (and milk that registry for all it's worth!)
