5 years 5 years 5 years!
hitting 5 years of marriage sounds like a huge accomplishment to me. 5 years is longer than high school and i thought high school was dreadfully long! but these past 5 years have gone by so fast, maybe it's b/c i'm wonderfully happier than i was in high school.
seriously can't believe we've been married for 5 years. life has changed so much since we were married. we would never have thought that we'd be living in tooele, ut with a toddler and a kid on the way in 5 years. i'm still madly in love with brett. of course you have your ups and downs in marriage but its the ups that make being married worth it and the downs are what strengthen it. i love that he supports me and comforts/cuddles me whenever i need it. and i actually love how much of an excel nerd he's become. he's such a cute daddy to everton, they love to wrestle and play cars together. i'm sort of hoping this next kid is a boy so they could have another member to wrestle with.
brett is my sweetheart. it's so easy to forget that you still need to work on your marriage and your love for each other as kids, work, and life in general gets in the way but we strive to make time to spend with each other. even if it just means cuddling on the couch watching netflix.
to commemorate our 5th year anniversary and to update our family pictures we had my best friend charlene take some pics for us. she's an up and coming photographer and i think she did amazingly for her first photo shoot.
totally snagged this idea from beloved pinterest. i love progression photos so you'll be seeing this picture again in 5 years, with us 5 years older and we'll have been married for 10 years. HOLY CRAP.
STILL IN LOVE!
there are more pics of my sweet fam of charlene's blog if you wanna see, but i'll post more pics when i get a hard copy of em.
so to celebrate our 5th year of marriage we honestly didn't really know what we were doing until the day of. pregnancy is such an energy sucker so i was totally satisfied with just going to a nice dinner.
but even then we didn't know where we wanted to go. cheesecake sounded so good so we were set to go to the cheesecake factory. we dropped everton off with erin at her new apt in slc and set off for city creek.
but of course, city creek's cheesecake factory was packed and the wait time was ridiculous. this pregnant woman was HOUNGRY. we decided that the wait time wasn't worth it and we were trying to figure out where to eat ASAP. we eyed this italian restaurant nearby the cheesecake factory and decided to try it out. i like trying new restaurants so i was excited. it's called brio tuscan grille and holy crap we're so glad we decided to come here instead of the cheesecake factory. the service was so good and the food was even better. definitely coming back here again.
i didn't get my cheesecake but we got this evil piece of chocolate cake instead. the fetus most likely fell into a sugar coma after this.
the date was wonderful and much needed. i got worn out just walking to the restaurant and back to the car (maybe it was all that food we just stuffed ourselves with) so we called it a night. we went back to erin's to pick up our bundle of energy and big points goes to erin! she had changed her first poopy diaper. it's always traumatizing changing your first diaper full of poop, at least i think it is.
big thanks to erin for babysitting and for cleaning everton's butt!!
and big thanks, kisses, hugs, and cans of dr. pepper to brett for sticking with me for 5 years and here's to eternity more!
p.s. and happy anniversary to my adorable parents!
